Journalism 1
My senior year I was given the opportunity to be a Journalism 1 facilitator and teach and mentor new people in the program. In this position, it was my responsibility to outreach to people outside of the program to take Journalism 1. I created this video to show to people to inform them about the class and hopefully convince them to join.
SAVANA CAMERON
The summer after my first year as a journalism student, I attended the Mercer Center for Collaborative Journalism summer camp where I had the opportunity to use state of the art equipment. I worked with only two other amateur broadcasters and was exposed to the professional world of broadcast journalism. We received runner up for the best video at the camp.
DIGGING UP THE DIRT
This was the first video I ever produced for my school publication that was made to stand alone as a multimedia broadcast piece. Although I was never on our broadcast staff, I still created and edited videos to support my articles. This was the first time a video of mine was published on its own as a worthy piece of journalism, winning an award at SIPA 2018.
CCSD EMPLOYEES GATHER AT 2017-18 SCHOOL YEAR KICK OFF
I produced this video along with an accompanying article over the summer. This was one of the first times I took time out of my summer break to work on a story. I learned a lot about my ability to multi-task and to get enough content for an article and an accompanying video.

This video was used a supportive multimedia element for a feature news article. It contained a lot of the same sourcing and information, but holds its own sources and information not found in the article as well.
