This was the first story I assisted in posting to the website with my Digital Editor. I made all elements of the package, including the timeline and infographic. During the posting process of the package I learned about the different coding languages for websites, that being HTML, CSS and JavaScript. For this story, we used HTML to put the elements together into a package.

In this business feature article I detailed a barber shop owner and his importance to the African American-owned business community. The story included sound bites of quotes, adding real life voices to the words. There was also an interactive photo collage. These aspects aided in the story being nominated as a finalist for Digital Story of the Year by The National Scholastic Press Association.

This infographic shows statistics about the various winter sports at Clarke Central and is packaged together as an overall Winter Sports Preview. This was the perfect way to package the elements, because without the photos or graphics it would not be interesting to read. It would just be a bunch of text.
